Privacy

What happens to your files and data.

Short version: your files stay on your device, except a video that needs re-encoding. XPRTIX records anonymous usage data for the video and image tools, and nothing from the SVG editor.

SVG editor

Everything happens in your browser. Files are never uploaded and the editor records nothing. Open tabs are kept in your browser's session storage so a reload brings them back; closing the browser tab clears them.

Image tool

Images are converted, resized and cropped in your browser and are never uploaded.

Video tool

Faststart and HEVC tag repairs run in your browser and the video is never uploaded. Only a video that has to be re-encoded (an unsupported codec, profile or audio track) is sent to the server. That upload is deleted as soon as the encode ends, and the result shortly after you save it.

Anonymous usage data

For the video and image tools, XPRTIX records: a random session id (kept in session storage, not a cookie), your browser's user agent, the page you came from, the name, size and format details of each file you add, what was done to it and whether that worked. It never records the contents of a file. This is used to see which problems people hit and to fix them. It is not shared with advertisers and is not used to follow you across other sites.

Cookies and third parties

XPRTIX sets no cookies. Page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google.
