Resize images: how it works
Making images smaller
Photos from a phone are far larger than most websites, emails or documents need. Scaling an image to 50% leaves a quarter of the pixels and a much smaller file. Use the Scale slider or the 25, 50 and 75 percent buttons, and the result shows the new pixel size and file size.
Keeping the format
The output is set to Original, so each image is saved in the format it came in. HEIC, GIF and BMP cannot be written by a browser, so those become JPEG. To change the format as well, pick one from the Format list.
One image or many
The settings apply to every image in the list. To give one image its own scale, crop or rotation, open it with Crop & edit. All of it runs on your device and nothing is uploaded.
What it does
What you can do with your images
Convert iPhone photos, shrink files for email or the web, and crop to an exact size, one image or a whole batch at a time. Your images never leave your device.

01
Convert HEIC photos to JPEG or PNG
iPhones save photos as HEIC, which Windows, many websites and older apps can't open. Convert them to JPEG for sharing, or PNG when you need lossless quality. It works in Chrome, Edge and Firefox as well as Safari.
In your browser -
02
Make images smaller
Scale images down from 1% to 100% and set the quality for JPEG, WebP, AVIF and PDF. WebP and AVIF are usually far smaller than JPEG at the same quality. Each image shows its size before and after, like

Compress PNGs without losing anything
The PNG compression slider trades speed for size. The result is always pixel-for-pixel identical to the original: images with few colours are stored as a palette, and an alpha channel that isn't used is dropped.

Crop, rotate and flip
Drag a crop box or type exact pixel values, and lock it to 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 or 9:16 for profile pictures, thumbnails and stories. Rotate in 90° steps, flip either way, and give any image its own scale.

Turn images into PDFs and icons
Save any image as a one-page PDF to email or upload where only documents are accepted, or as an ICO favicon with every standard icon size inside (16 px up to 256 px).

- Anonymous usage data: the file name, size and format of each image, the settings used and whether it worked.

Questions
Asked often
Can I resize to an exact pixel size?
You resize by percentage. For an exact shape, crop with Crop & edit and then scale.
Does resizing make the file smaller?
Yes. Fewer pixels mean a smaller file. Lowering the quality shrinks it further for JPG and WebP.
Will resizing change the image proportions?
No. The same scale applies to width and height, so proportions are kept.
Can I resize HEIC photos?
Yes. HEIC photos are read in your browser; because a browser cannot write HEIC, they are saved as JPEG.
Can I resize many images at once?
Yes. The scale applies to every image in the list. Convert them all and save them as a ZIP.
Can I make an image bigger?
The scale goes up to 100%, the original size. Enlarging an image cannot add detail, so it is not offered.
