Mirror a selfie

Front cameras often save a selfie video the way you saw it, or the other way round, depending on the app. If text in the picture reads backwards, flip it horizontally. Drop your video, press the flip button in the editor, check the preview, and apply.

Horizontal or vertical

A horizontal flip swaps left and right, like a mirror. A vertical flip swaps top and bottom. A vertical flip is the same picture as turning the video 180° and then flipping it horizontally, and you can use either route.

Combine it with other edits

The same window rotates, crops, trims and removes the sound. Flipping re-encodes the video at high quality, so a longer clip takes a little while. To turn a sideways clip upright instead, use rotate.

Check text and logos

Flipping mirrors everything in the picture, including writing, logos and numbers, so a sign that read correctly will now read backwards. If the text matters, flip only when the shot has none, or check the preview before you apply.

Saving the result

You get an MP4 unless you choose another format in the same window. The video is encoded again at high quality, so keep your original in case you want the unflipped version later.
