Open a GLB file: how it works
Open it without installing anything
A GLB does not open in an image viewer or a document app, and a 3D editor is a large install for a quick look. Drop the file on this page and it opens in a viewer straight away: drag to turn it, scroll or pinch to zoom, and reset the view if you get lost.
The viewer also opens OBJ, STL, PLY and glTF files, so you can look at anything you are about to convert.
What you see
The model is lit by a neutral studio light so colours and materials read as they are meant to, on a plain dark background. The wireframe button shows the triangles themselves, which is the quickest way to see whether a model is dense, uneven or built from long thin triangles.
Below the model are its triangle count and file size, and the card has the rest of the inspection: draw calls, textures, duplicates, and any glTF spec errors.
Before and after
After optimizing, switch between the original and the result in the same view and the same angle, so a lost detail or a changed texture shows up straight away.
Limits
The viewer needs WebGL, which every current browser has. KTX2 textures are shown too, decoded for whatever your graphics card reads. If the graphics context is lost, the preview closes and your file is not affected.

What leaves your device
No model is uploaded. Everything runs in your browser; the compression engines and the validator are downloaded from this site the first time they are needed. What is recorded.

Questions
Asked often
How do I open a GLB file?
Drop it on this page. It opens in the viewer, where you can turn and zoom it.
Can I open OBJ, STL and PLY files too?
Yes, along with glTF with its files. Drop the model with its textures, or as one zip.
Is the model uploaded?
No. It is read and shown in your browser.
Why is my model dark or flat?
Models without materials are shown in plain grey. Add colour in your 3D editor; the viewer shows what the file contains.
Why does the preview not show my textures?
The viewer shows PNG, JPEG, WebP and KTX2 textures. If one is missing, the file may point at an image that was not dropped with it: the card names it.
Can I see how many triangles it has?
Yes, under the viewer and on the card, along with draw calls and texture sizes.
